About Credit Repair

In 1971 the Fair Credit Reporting Act made credit repair possible, the credit bureaus have been working to make it complicated and difficult. Due to our extensive experiences with the 3 Major Bureaus for the past 8 years it has helped us develop a better understanding of how to successfully challenge erroneous, incorrect, misleading and or unverifiable information. We know the impact that negative information can have on your credit score. Our motto is "Repair Your Credit Repair Your Life" .

Our process:

Welcome to our family of Clients. Once you sign up you make the first step towards good credit. The process begins right away.   At your first consultation you will meet or be contacted by one of our credit repair consultants. At this consultation we will analyze your current situation and will always try to review at least one of your credit reports from one of the credit bureaus. If you do not have your reports, we can help you get copies. This interview process will help us get a clear understanding of your side of the story as it pertains to your credit history. Once we have a clear understanding of your credit history and case situation we move forward to step 2.

Audit and preparation for challenge.

Once our consultation is complete we conduct our own audit of all three of your credit reports with Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, to begin the initial investigation and dispute cycle. At each cycle we prepare and submit investigation requests, authorized challenges, validation requests or other necessary documents and submit them to the proper parties electronically, orally or by written correspondence for any and all negative or derogatory information contained in your credit file.   Since everything is being done on your behalf you will receive updated reports from the bureaus on a continuous basis. It is important to forward each updated report to us so we can track which items were deleted. Reports should be mailed to our office, not faxed or emailed

CRF works on your behalf.

CRF will analyze and perform a general audit of Client's credit report on a month to month basis for the purpose of identifying potentially negative inaccurate, outdated, misleading and unverifiable information and Client authorizes CRF to use its experience, expertise, knowledge of relevant Federal and State laws, and best judgment to re-audit and/or re-challenge those negative factors.

Our ongoing process.

The credit bureaus have 30 days to investigate your challenge. After that, they must inform you of their results, they will send you a copy of your updated report. It may take, and usually does take; 45 - 60 days from the day we send a challenge to the day you receive an updated report. When you receive a response from a bureau, make a copy of the updated report for your records then send the original to Credit Repair Financial. .

The FCRA: your right to accurate credit reporting. http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcradoc.pdf Please add this link

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) was enacted in 1970 to promote fairness, accuracy and the privacy of personal information assembled by Credit Reporting Agencies.

The FCRA allows a consumer to challenge the information on his or her credit report on the basis of "completeness and accuracy."

The credit bureaus are required to complete the investigation within a "reasonable period of time." This time period has been set at thirty days.

If, after an investigation by the credit bureau, the challenged information "is found to be inaccurate or can no longer be verified, the [credit bureau] shall promptly delete such information."

In theory, the disputation process should be simple, but many consumers quickly discover that the credit bureaus have made it more difficult than they imagined.

The bureaus may ignore a challenge if they believe it to be "frivolous or irrelevant." They may also ignore challenges citing extenuating circumstances, such as health problems, divorce, job loss, etc. as the reason for the negative marks.

Credit bureaus are for-profit companies, and investigating challenges is not a profitable practice, so the bureaus take full advantage or their right to ignore and deny claims; making the process a difficult and frustrating experience for most consumers.
